Is Essential in
Nurturing and
Directing Students
F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is making such an impact in the lives of the
children. Rayquan is
a second grader who has multiple problems at home and at school.
But God! Yes,
God stepped in and changed his entire life in one week.
He started the F.R.I.E.N.D.S program on a Thursday and then
came to Bible study on Saturday. At Bible study he gave his life to Jesus, that afternoon
United In Him received a box of children’s clothes, most of
which fit him and his brother perfectly.
Sunday, Rayquan and his brother came to church in their new
clothes and have been faithful to come to Bible study and prayer
every week over the past month.
Isn’t God amazing! One
child’s life has been changed forever.
Kyle, a fourth grade student who has an extremely difficult
home life, was moved into Vicki’s classroom as a last resort in
order to see if she could help him. He has been suspended numerous times and had an “I
don’t care” attitude about everything.
His entire countenance has changed since he was moved into
her classroom. He
smiles more… He is doing his work.
He listens and really cares about his behavior and is
trying hard to succeed. The
F.R.I.E.N.D.S program has literally changed his life as he has
found one young man who really cares about him.

The greatest miracle this month has been the outpouring of
God’s power during our Monday night prayer meeting and weekly
Bible study. Last
month, the Lord led us to establish a core group of kids who
exemplify the love of Jesus and have the potential to help lead
the ministry. These
are kids who have the potential to be great leaders, but need to
be equipped with the proper training in order to become Godly
leaders of the next generation.
We never thought that within one month they would rise up
and begin leading the other children into worship and prayer.
The children have learned to pray for the other children,
and now carry the vision of reaching the entire community for
Jesus.
In the past when 20 kids showed up to prayer, it became
more of a time of disciplining the children to prepare them to
pray. Now instead of
the adults praying, the children form small groups with an adult
and they do most of the praying.
They pray for their families and the people they know in
jail. They ask God to
help them teach the people about Jesus so that they can have a
clean heart. They ask
God to help them in school and to help them do what is right.
In addition to the children, we also have 3 faithful
F.R.I.E.N.D.S. mentors who have been coming to prayer on Monday
night. This is such
an answer to many months of prayer as we desperately needed men to
begin to help lead the children.
Our
prayer focus this month is for a young second grader, Ieisha, who
spends many days watching her 3 younger siblings.
She is a child herself and really needs her mother. We are asking God to totally transform this family and to
bring all of them to the saving knowledge of Jesus.
