Praise Reports© We took 9 kids to see Kingdom, the horse that has been donated to Hosanna House. None of them had ever seen a horse before and most of them were terrified at first. In fact, 5 of them broke down in tears begging to go home. But after an hour, none of them were crying and all of them at least tried to pet the horse, while some of the braver kids opted to feed him.

To unite with churches and other Christian organizations to totally transform inner city communities through the love of Jesus Christ.
This month we have been writing a land proposal to acquire 50 acres of land to establish Hosanna House, a home for orphaned, abandoned and abused children. We are specifically targeting the children who have been sexually and emotionally abused.
The property is owned by a corporation of doctors and lawyers and extends over 518 acres. It was originally purchased to build condominiums; however at this time all of the land is zoned for agriculture and cannot be used for that purpose.
In July, we were prayer-walking around the land and God placed a crisp $5 bill in the gutter at the edge of the property. The ditch was very muddy, but the bill was like new. God revealed to us that He owns all the land and gives it to whomever He chooses. That day He gave us $5, confirming that we were to ask for a donation of 50 acres, which would represent a tithe of the land.
At times, the odds seem insurmountable, but we know that our God is able to perform miracles! He has called us to this mission and He will bring it to pass, because He desires to see children healed from abuse and saved through the blood of Jesus.
Something must to be done for the thousands of precious children who need to know the love of Jesus and His power to redeem them from all hurt, pain, and suffering. Hosanna House is the answer! Hurting children will experience the love of God in a farm setting resulting in emotional healing, self worth and purpose. Each child will care for abandoned, abused and rejected animals which will aid in their own healing as they learn to overcome all things through the power of Jesus Christ and develop the ability to care for, value, and respect life.
We are seeing amazing progress in all of the children who are coming to Higher Learning. They are getting their homework done, assisting others, and reading the Bible daily. They are also learning respect for others and how to overcome discouragement. On a daily basis we assist 17+ kids from 2-9th grade and are in desperate need of additional volunteers. If you can help from 4-5:30 p.m. Tues, Wed, or Thurs please let us know.
Student Stories
This month many of the students have been required to do projects which can often be very difficult if they do not have the resources to put it all together. We praise God for allowing us the privilege of teaching the students what it takes to develop an idea, acquire the necessary items, and then put it all together to get an A+.
LeKevin who is in 6th grade worked extremely hard for over a week putting together a model of atoms for his Science class. He used string and wires to make Helium, Carbon, and Nitrogen atoms and then took silly putty and made an extraordinary model of the Sodium Atom. The night prior to his big presentation, he practiced for over an hour, so he would be prepared to explain his project to his class. He was so excited and knew that he was going to get an A.
But on his way to school the next morning, some boys destroyed his project and threw it out the window of the bus. This is just another example of the struggles that kids that grow up in low-income housing face. They try to excel and get pushed down again and again, to the point where they finally give up. LeKevin worked so hard, and expected to receive an A for his effort, but he didn't. However, his teacher did give him another opportunity to complete the assignment with the help of an assistant at his school. We know this was very hard for Lekevin and are praying that God would give him the desire to strive for excellence again.
Congratulations to Dee Smith, one of the ladies in our women’s Bible study. She gave birth to a health baby boy on Thursday, October 28th, but was determined to make it to Bible study Monday evening. She is an amazing woman who is studying the Word and has an incredible gift of teaching. Pray for her continued growth and for her newborn son, Lyneell the 3rd. |
