Scripture of the Month

Isaiah 40:31

But those who hope in the LORD,

will renew their strength.

They will mount up with wing like eagles,

They will run and not grow weary.

They will walk and not be faint.

Steppers take it to the Races

This month 7 of the UIH Steppers participated in two 1-mile races.  Even though this was their first road race, they didn’t let that hold them back.  ShawnDera took 3rd place in the first race and came in 1st in the second race, completing both races in under 7˝ minutes.  Danielle and Nene were right behind her in both events finishing in under 8 ˝ minutes.  It is amazing to see each of the girls strive for excellence in every area of their lives.

Leading the Next Generation

In addition to racing, the UIH Steppers have been extremely busy choreographing a new routine for the upcoming competition in January and teaching the new members of the team.  After the last competition, we established a Varsity B team and 2 Junior Varsity teams in order to allow more kids to participate and develop their skills.

The Crossroads

We have seen such tremendous fruit over the past 4 years especially in these girls who have dedicated their lives to Christ, but we truly believe that we are another crossroads where God is going to send a huge revival to the land.

We know it takes a multitude of laborers to harvest the crops, so we are asking that you would pray that God draw those people unto these fields to come and help us.  We have planted the seeds, toiled the ground, and now is the time for the harvest.  There is so much work that needs to be done to transform an entire community, but anything is possible when we join together in prayer.

                        Winner of the Car

Mary’s Testimony:  Over these past 7 weeks I have spent a lot of time reading my Word and praying.  I completed a 10-week Bible study on the Old Testament and read two books, The Battlefield of the Mind and The Dream Giver.  There were days where it was really hard and I felt discouraged, but I just keep pressing in and asking God to strengthen me.

I was very excited to win the car as it allows me the freedom to be able to find a house to rent without having to rely on others to transport me.  Right now I live in Twin Canal, but I believe that God is going to open doors for me to utilize the Section 8 housing voucher that He provided for me.  One of my struggles has been finding a house in the Virginia Beach area that will accept Section 8 and is not more than $1,100.

I am unwilling to move to another area at this time, as my children truly need the help that United In Him provides with their homework.  Additionally, both of my teenage girls are on the Step Team and I know this has been such a positive influence in their lives and if we were to move too far, this would hinder them from being involved.

I personally have grown closer to Christ over the past 4 years as I have been a part of this ministry.  My girls have also become more Christ-like in their attitudes and actions since they started attending the activities that United In Him provides.  For me, there is nothing more important than learning how to walk with God and to listen for His voice.  My deep desire is to see all of my children living powerfully for God.

Holiday Adoptions

We are quickly approaching the holiday season and it is such a  wonderful  time where all of the children eagerly

anticipate what gift that they may receive from Jesus.  For the past three years we have seen God fulfill  our desire  to be able to  give each of the children a really special gift.  If you would like to adopt a child or family for Christmas please contact us directly at 757-471-0180 or e-mail unitedinhim@cox.net
