To unite with churches and other Christian organizations to totally transform inner city communities through the love of Jesus Christ.
This holiday season has been tremendous, as Calvary Revival Church has started a new outreach program where once a month they are holding the childrens’ church at Chuck E. Cheese. We were extremely blessed to be able to bring as many children as we could transport to this outreach without cost for pizza or tokens for the arcade games. The children were so excited and couldn’t believe that church could actually be held in a restaurant, or that they would receive free pizza and tokens.
So many of our Higher Learning participants are achieving excellent grades in school. We have many children who were on the honor roll this semester and a few are on the principle’s list. We are so excited to see the progress of all the children.
When we started the Higher Learning program last year there were many days when we only had a couple of children, but this year the program has exploded. We have on average 18-20 kids per day who all need additional help to ensure that their homework is done properly. The director of the FRIENDS program has blessed us as she has been assisting us one day a week, but on the other days there is generally only the two of us to correct the children’s work and quiz them on their bible reading.
We have seen tremendous growth in our boys Bible study this past month. Ron Scott is connecting with the boys and sharing with them the Word and the boys are responding. Ron is also developing a serious of lessons on how to use their hands in godly ways. As a mechanic, Ron is using his ability to repair cars to teach them various skills of car repair, combined with lessons on using their hands for good and not evil.
