There is nothing more devastating than seeing your only son lying in an ICU hospital room.  But even more devastating, is knowing that the doctors have absolutely no idea what started the uncontrollable seizures on the morning of November 12th.  Anthony was simply playing football, basketball, and running track one day as a healthy 13 year old and now he lies in a hospital room fighting for his life against an unknown virus that is attacking his brain and causing him to have seizures.

The doctors have tried everything to stop the seizures, but have been completely unsuccessful.  Even the doctors have resorted to prayer as it seems there is nothing humanly possible that can be done for Anthony.  It seems surreal that Anthony, who has always been a superstar in almost every sport including going to the Junior Olympics last year, is now in the hospital with uncontrollable seizures.

But we know that Christ is the Healer and there is nothing that is beyond His understanding.  When the doctor’s report continues to come back negative, we know that we serve a God who is greater and we choose to believe His report that says, “All things are possible for those who believe.”  (Mark 9:23)  We believe that Anthony is going to be restored to perfect health and that through this experience he is going to not only be stronger physically, mentally, and emotionally, but his faith is going to lead millions into the kingdom.

So, during this holiday season if you are feeling discouraged, overwhelmed or lonely remember that Jesus came to heal the broken-hearted, to bind up our wounds and to heal all of our diseases.  He is the reason for the season and has the power to transform any circumstance.

Holiday Cheer

We are quickly approaching the holiday season and it is such a wonderful time where all of the children eagerly anticipate what gift that they may receive from Jesus.  For the past three years we have seen God fulfill our desire to be able to give each of the children a really special gift.  At this year is no exception, we would like to send a huge thank you out to CRC-C, the nurses at Bayside Hospital, the women at the shipyard, and other private donors who have helped to make this Christmas very special for all of the children.

We would also like to encourage everyone to consider supporting United In Him financially in the upcoming year.  We have been working in Twin Canal for the past 4 years and as the ministry continues to grow our need for financial support also continues to grow.

We also ask that you would put United In Him on your daily prayer list. We have seen such tremendous growth in our children and teenagers over this past year, and they really need your prayers to continue to remain strong in Christ.  We have seen incredible transformation in their academics, attitudes, and actions.  Now instead of talking about wanting to do well in school, they are actually doing wonderfully in school.  In fact, those students who would have gladly received a “C” are now very upset when they don’t get an “A”
