After 15 days of RAW foods, I lost 7 pounds. And now everyone is starting to notice. Spring.

To unite with churches and other Christian organizations to totally transform inner city communities through the love of Jesus Christ.
What a great testimony this month of the power of prayer in the lives of children! Several students who participate in the Higher Learning or in F.R.I.E.N.D.S. program received honors at their school’s awards assembly!
Jessica, who also had been retained in fourth grade, Now participates in Higher Learning, earned the Honor Roll Award and Citizenship Award.
Many children won awards including: Dashaqua, Ka’Vaughn, Brittany, Raquel, Khiree, Tanicia, and Tanisha. God is moving powerfully! Most of these kids have had serious discipline problems in the past, but now they are receiving awards not only for honor roll, but also for citizenship. Praise God!
    
Raquel - What an awesome testimony! At the beginning of last month during Bible study, we were teaching on making vows to the Lord. We started a sticker chart for the children who wanted to make a promise to Jesus. We didn’t instruct the children on their promise, but to say that it had to be something measurable. Raquel chose to make a promise to the Lord not to fight for 2 months. For her that was HUGE! Tanicia promised to read 1 chapter of her Bible everyday. Danielle promised to read her Bible 5 minutes a day. Tanisha promised to brush her teeth twice a day. Ashley, our dance teacher, vowed to minister to someone everyday!
February 28, 2004 marked United In Him’s 1st Anniversary of being incorporated. What a testimony of how God is setting the oppressed free, binding up the broken hearted, providing food and shelter for the needy, and bestowing a crown of beauty, the oil of gladness, and a garment of praise. (Our mission statement based on Acts 1:8, Isaiah 61:1-3, 58:6-8)
To celebrate, we threw a great party and put together a short video of some of the events of the past year. It was AWESOME to sit back and just say, “Look what our God has done!” To think that we received $700 from a stranger on a plane to establish United In Him, received our 501c3 status, saw countless adults and children saved, distributed hundreds of bags of food and clothing, started a website, participated in various outreaches with our Dance Team, began a tutoring program and continued the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. program, received computers for the children, and numerous other things…ALL IN 2003! We stand in AWE of all that our God has done and just wait upon Him for all that He has for us in 2004!
Lives are being completely transformed by the power of Jesus Christ through the 52 Day Transformation, where 17 individuals have committed to only eating RAW fruits and vegetables for 52 Days. Each day they are reading the book that Jackie is writing and sharing their thoughts and testimonies. I am 38…my glucose level (sugar) went from approximately 265 to 174 and I lost 10 pounds in the first 10 days. I was waking up two to three times a night to urinate because of my high glucose level which meant I was only sleeping two to three hours. I am now sleeping through the night! Before starting the 52 day transformation, I was drinking approximately 32 oz of coffee and 48 oz of soda a day to stay awake and function. I am now down to zero.
My motivation is not to lose weight or even heal my diabetes…my motivation is to preserve my body so that I have the energy and strength to fulfill God’s purpose for my life. The second motivation is my children and spouse; they deserve a husband and a father that will be there for them and can help them fulfill their purpose.
We do have one problem, family members are fighting over the carrot juice! KG |
