Vision Statement

To unite with churches and other Christian organizations to totally transform inner city communities through the love of Jesus Christ.

Building a Team

God has been connecting us with so many amazing Christians! Toussaint Romain, a 2nd year law student at Regent University has joined our team and has obtained a grant from the University to work for United In Him for the summer. His primary objectives will be to write grants and to obtain resources to increase the impact of the ministry.  Toussaint will be coming on board full time starting on May 1st and then will be working throughout the 2006-2007 school year.

We cannot begin to express how thankful we are that God has brought Toussaint and his wife, Tunisia, to join our team.  Together we know that God is going to use them to teach many powerful truths to both the children and adults.  Having a married couple on our staff is exactly what we needed!

Chris and Donyata Washington, members of our church and exceptional grant writers, are also seeking for grants for the ministry and have been extremely helpful in connecting us with others who have similar visions of expansion for the future.  We feel so blessed to have them as members of our team and praise God daily for His Divine connections.

Expanding the Team

Regent University Law Department has also decided to begin giving their students credits for every hour that they volunteer with United In Him ministry. This connection for the upcoming 2006-2007 school year is going to transform the entire ministry.  We anticipate over 100 new mentors to join the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. program as well as growth in every other area of the ministry.

Regent UniversityAdditionally, Toussaint has begun connecting us with other departments within the University and we look forward to seeing their involvement in the upcoming school year.  We believe that in 2007 God is going to stretch us far beyond our current boarders.  We are currently outgrowing our facility and now must consider other possible locations to facilitate the current growth rate.

A team of Divinity students from Regent also hosted a cookout for all of the children on April 1st.  Moses, Mike, Juan, Camille, and others came and prepared a meal for the children.  Their vision was to make an impact in the lives of the children through building relationships.  They played games with them, shared the gospel and then spent time praying with the children and teenagers.

We know that our children are being changed through the relationships they are building with so many awesome godly men and women.  We are seeing our children and teens dreams beginning to expand as they talk about becoming lawyers, missionaries, and teachers.  God is definitely on the move!

Team Impact

We had the opportunity to take 22 children and adults to Team Impact, a ministry of super strong men who crush bricks, bend steel, and proclaim the Word of God throughout the world.  Every year, people who normally would never come to a typical church event, pack the sanctuaries of local churches to see the extraordinary feats of strength performed by the men of Team Impact.
