Dreams Do Come True

ShaRon has always had a dream in her heart, but as

a grandmother she resolved that her dream would never become a reality.  But God saw her heart, and

on May 5th God gave her the most precious Mother’s Day gift – a beautiful oak upright piano.

We are members of two Yahoo groups – Freecycle and the Blessing Exchange.  Both of these groups offer free items to others in the area.  As we become aware of the needs/desires of the residents in Twin Canal we add them to our database.  When these items are posted online, we go and pick them up and deliver them.

We have delivered many items, but none so amazing as what God gave to ShaRon.  For as long as she can remember, ShaRon has always wanted a piano.  She had put it on our list almost as a joke thinking that it would never come to pass.  But when we called her to say that we had won the piano she couldn’t believe her ears.

Even more miraculous was the fact that within 15 minutes of calling other residents in Twin Canal who know ShaRon, we were able to rally 5 women and 2 men all before 8:00 A.M.  Additionally we were able to borrow a truck from a friend and had the piano in ShaRon’s home by 9:30 A.M.  ShaRon is a living proof that Jesus does fulfill every desire of the heart!

Answered

Prayer!

The children have been praying faithfully for 2 ½ years for transportation as they know that this one of our greatest limitations.  Last month God overwhelmed us through the outpouring of both a car and a 7-passenger van!    The children are so thankful for the van as it has opened up many additional opportunities for them to attend a variety of events.

But our God always goes above and beyond our greatest expectations!  We honestly couldn’t believe it when a lady we briefly met called to tell us that a friend of hers wanted to donate a 24-passenger bus to the children!

The bus is in need of some repairs, but the man who donated the bus is willing to do the repairs for FREE.  We are so excited, as this bus will totally transform our entire summer camp program.  Presently our summer camp is limited to only 10 children, but with the bus we could double the number of children who will be able to attend.

God has also been increasing the vision of the children! Our bus is currently housed at the CRC Discover Life Center, which is the future home for men coming out of prison.  This facility is presently being renovated and the children were so excited when they realized that they could make a difference by helping to clean it up.

On Memorial day weekend 15 children spent 3 hours raking leaves, pulling weeds, and picking up twigs.  When we finished, the children looked   into   the   dumpster and marveled that they had accomplished so much.  The dumpster that was empty was now ½ full.
