To unite with churches and other Christian organizations to totally transform inner city communities through the love of Jesus Christ.
We chose 19 children for leadership training camp for the summer. All of them have shown exceptional leadership qualities and have committed themselves to attending church weekly, being on time for all activities, speaking positively to others and demonstrating a Christ-like attitude everyday. We are excited about the changes we are seeing in the children, and even their parents are noticing that they are becoming better leaders. Likewise, other parents ask us weekly how to get their children involved.
As leaders the children are learning how to serve others and to work together as a team. Monday and Tuesday are spent building unity as the campers work in teams doing crafts, playing games, and learning bible stories.
Wednesdays are designated as field trip days. During the month of June we saw Natalie Grant on The 700 Club, took a tour of CBN, enjoyed a day at the beach, spent time at a local recreation center swimming in the pool and bowling.
Prior to every field trip we do a special service project where all of the campers work for a couple of hours raking leaves, sweeping roads, digging flower beds, and serving in any other capacity. We have worked at the Discover Life Center - a facility that our church recently purchased that will house ex-convicts in late fall and the House of Esther – a facility for pregnant teenage mothers.
The Blessing Exchange was created to unite the local body of believers so that we might more effectively communicate the needs within our our family of believers.
Who can participate: ? All members of Calvary Revival Church & CRC Alliance Churches ? Everyone connected with United In Him ministry, or ? Anyone invited by a current member of the Blessing Exchange
How it works: Participants first must sign up for a free yahoo account and then simply go to www.groups.yahoo.com/group/blessingexchange and fill out the necessary information. Then members can begin posting items they want or items they would like to donate.
For example:
“Wanted” Posts: To let others know the items or services you need a. In the Subject line type “Wanted: bunk beds” b. Then in the e-mail, write a brief description of what you need and your approximate location
“Offer” Posts: To post items you would like to donate
kind of condition it is in, and your approximate location. Generally, the recipient will pick up all offers they receive
The Blessing Exchange is a way to help so many people! We believe with the growth of the body of Christ this is the next generation’s way of ensuring that we can provide for one another's needs.
