To unite with churches and other Christian organizations to totally transform inner city communities through the love of Jesus Christ.
What a gift God gave us in giving us the birth of His Son, Jesus! Even though that was many years ago, He hasn’t stopped giving His gifts unto us.
In fact we received all of these gifts through the generosity of Calvary Revival Church. It was such an awesome answer to prayer as we knew that many children would not receive many gifts for Christmas, and we really wanted them to have a special gift from Jesus. Then, one night we got a call from a wonderful lady from the church who said she had a van-load of presents she wanted to drop off at our house to give to the children of Twin Canal. So that night at 10:30, through the wind and the rain, she brought over 47 presents worth more than $700 for us to wrap and give to the children. What a blessing from our Savior to be able to bless so many children who would otherwise either have nothing or very little under their tree!
To top off that blessing, Calvary Revival Church invited us, along with 52 residents from Twin Canal, to attend their Christmas Party! What a tremendous time of fellowship, food, dancing and fun. Each child left with a gift. It’s amazing to see how God does supply exceedingly, abundantly above all we can ask or imagine!
Unbelievable Answer to Prayer
On December 20th, 3 men who love the Lord came to share their gift of rapping with the boys at The Outreach Center. 21 Boys attended and 12 girls
The boys were touched by the powerful testimony of Ben Barrows- (Son of Jacob) who was delivered from drugs and alcohol 4 years ago and now uses his life to glorify God by sharing the Gospel in music. Ben shared how he flunked the 9th grade twice, but after surrendering to Jesus, He went back and received his High School diploma and graduated from Bible college.
Brother Daron also testified of how peer pressure almost destroyed all of his dreams. He was an honor student who had skipped grades in his younger years, but then flunked out of 10th grade. Now after fully surrendering to God, he has a Masters degree and is a science teacher in a local middle school. The boys understood just how intense peer pressure can become and how the only way to stand is through the power of Jesus Christ.
Brother Ken shared how teachers and others tried to tell him that he would be special ed all of his life and wouldn’t amount to anything. But Ken surrendered his life to the Lord and now is an art teacher. The boys listened intently as Ken spoke to them about listening to the voice of God and the Word of God rather than the words of men.
After a time of ministering the men stayed to just hang out with the boys- playing Nintendo, air hockey, foosball, talking and eating pizza. We believe this is the beginning of how God is going to raise up men to help lead these young boys. We ask you to pray intensely for us as we desperately need godly men who will join us in ministering to these young boys as well as someone with a heart for the men 18-35. |
