A Holiday to Remember

On Thanksgiving Day, Calvary Revival Church sent a bus to Twin Canal which transported 29 people to their Annual Thanksgiving meal and celebration.  It was INCREDIBLE to see how God used this event to soften the hearts of many people.

The celebration began with a time of worship; then, everyone was served a wonderful meal, given door prizes, and heard a short message where many gave their hearts to the LORD.  All of the residents of Twin Canal along with the other 200 in attendance were so blessed by the volunteers who gave their time to come and serve.

Most of the residents of Twin Canal had never attended Calvary prior to this time, but praise God, now all are interested in attending church with us on Sunday.  In fact, one woman who happened to see the bus on Thanksgiving Day ran over and asked us if she and her daughter could come with us next Sunday.

Many residents of Twin Canal are very excited about the possibility of riding a bus to church on Sunday.  Prior to this time, we had questioned whether a bus would be too impersonal, but we are finding that it provides a non-intimidating and non-threatening environment where they feel comfortable.  Please pray that all of the necessary requirements will come together quickly, so that more of the residents will come to church to hear the Word of the Lord.  We know that this is just the beginning of revival as we see how God is uniting us with others and providing all that is needed to reap the rich harvest in Twin Canal.

The Upcoming Generation

This month has been INCREDIBLE!  Five days a week our home (which now is officially called The Outreach Center) is filled with children and adults who are learning to walk with Jesus as well as receiving the foundational skills they need to be successful in school and throughout life.

The Outreach Center is fully equipped to enhance the children’s learning along with providing a safe place for them to come, hang out, talk to an adult, and have fun playing some competitive games.

Every room in the Outreach Center is utilized during tutoring to provide adequate space for the children to focus on their work without being distracted.  Each day the children finish their homework, review it with an adult, read a book for 10 minutes, and record their reading in their log.

Then, the fun begins!  FREE TIME…where they can use:

The COMPUTER ROOM which currently has two computers equipped with educational games and the internet.

The GAME ROOM where the children have access to ping pong, air hockey, foosball, twister, checkers, chess, educational games and a Sony Play station.

The READING ROOM which is designated for children who need more time to finish their homework.

The MAIN ROOM which is designed for group Bible studies, leadership team meetings, and a counseling area.

The Outreach Center has become a place where the children love to come!  They are excited about learning, and those who come every week have seen great improvement in their grades.

Prior to the Higher Learning tutoring program, many of the children thought that as along as they had an answer on their homework, it was done.  But now they realize that it must be the right answer!   This may not seem like a huge achievement, but for many of these kids, no one has expected them to rise above a C-D average, so just getting by was good enough.  But God is changing all of that!
