SUMMER TRIPS

Our annual summer trips are immersive and thrilling experiences designed to change the environment and expose at-risk kids we serve to new places and activities. The trips are invitation only, intended for teachable candidates who have exemplified key principles throughout the year such as trustworthiness, accountability, commitment, and kindness.

2024 SUMMER TRIP  COMING THIS JULY!!!

This July we will take 8 youth and 3 chaperones on a 12-day, 4 states, 2500-mile journey to:

Ohio: We will spend time with Ms. Vicki's family and go to a water park, take a sunset kayak paddle, have s'mores, visit an Underground Railroad site, descend into a cavern, go gem mining, ride go-karts,and conduct a service project at an Assisted Living Center.

Kentucky: We will visit the Creation Museum, visit the Ark Encounter, participate/serve at an International Conference.

Charlotte, NC: We will visit the Billy Graham Library and participate in a service project before heading back to Virginia Beach.

The total cost of this life-changing trip is: $5000.

$300 Caverns/Gem Mining, Petting Zoo, Mini Golf

$500 Hotel

$2200 Food ($20/day per person)

WEEKLY EVENTS

Dream Church

​

Each week on Sunday Friday we pick up a van-load of children (and sometimes parents) for church. They participate in dancing during the worship and sometimes even with flags. On Sundays they attend Children's Church while on Fridays they complete a small Bible study and take notes. We also serve pizza or Wendy's before service.

​

Our monthly cost to serve dinner before church is around $400. If you feel led to contribute to feeding the kids before service:

Early Morning Prayer & Breakfast

​

6:00AM the van pulls into the parking lot of Twin Canal and picks up kids for Early Morning Prayer at New Life. It's amazing that every week children get up on their own and make to the van at 6AM! They learn to find a scripture or say a prayer at the microphone. Then we go to breakfast at either IHOP or Chick-Fil-A.

​

Movie and Pizza

Mondays at 3:30 at the Twin Canal Community Center. A character building program that teaches the Word and worship through the Superbook movie series.

Monthly Skate

The last Thursday of the month we take the top 14 kids (based on attendance) to Greenbrier Family Skate Center for Gospel Skate Night and free pizza. Every month their staff rewards a child with exemplary behavior a FREE pair of their very own skates!

Fun Fridays

 

An opportunity for Regent University students to visit Twin Canal in order to build relationships with children.

We will resume when school starts in the Fall of 2024.
